Who is an IT Auditor?
IT auditors are responsible for analyzing and evaluating an organization's technical infrastructure to ensure that processes and systems run accurately, and efficiently, remain secure, and meet compliance regulations. IT auditors also identify all IT issues that are audited, especially those related to security and risk management. Once a problem is identified, the IT auditor is responsible for communicating the findings to others in the organization and providing solutions to improve or modify processes and systems to ensure security and compliance.
What do they do?
The role of the IT auditor is to develop, implement, test, and evaluate audit review procedures. You will be responsible for implementing IT-related and IT audit projects using established IT auditing standards in your organization. The assessment process can extend to networks, software, programs, communication systems, security systems, and any other services based on the company's technology infrastructure. This is an important role for organizations that depend on technology because a small technical error or negligence can affect the entire business. IT audits are important to evaluate internal controls and processes for the purpose of protecting the organization and its data from external or internal threats.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead assigned IT audit projects to achieve departmental guidelines. Ensure guidelines are followed within established timeframes. And with high-quality results.
• Review business processes, identify and evaluate controls, and communicate the results to customers.
• Define for the audit staff the overall scope of the audit, providing them with tasks and guidance throughout the audit project.
• Supervising assigned audit staff through the completion of the entire audit. This includes interviewing customers, reviewing business processes, and identifying and evaluating controls. And evaluate critical test controls, develop results, and communicate with customers to develop and track action plans.
• Identify risk factors and controls in applications and systems that support key business processes. And perform audits to determine the scope of the audit.
• Develop IT audit programming, manage the implementation of audit test procedures. Includes review and analysis of evidence. And make sure that the appropriate conclusions will be reached.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives to improve IT processes. Including, but not limited to, data analysis strategies and any fraud.
• Write high quality reports and make sure the conclusions are correct. And that actions are fully documented according to departmental standards.
Role Requirements:
• CISA certification, required
• Prioritize CISSP, CISM, MCSE
• More than 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Having first training experience is an advantage
• Experience with troubleshooting systems
• Proficient in MAC and OS
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with a variety of software and hardware
• Ready to travel
